According to a 2007 survey by Game Developer Magazine, women comprise less than 1 in 5 workers in the video game industry and make up only 3% of game programmers.

Theories as to why women aren't more involved in the industry, range from little girls not being indoctrinated into the culture at a young age, to strippers at recruiting parties.
