Euphonious Limited, a game audio production company founded by former Realtime Worlds Audio Director and double "Use of Audio" BAFTA award winning Raymond Usher has been awarded a grant totalling £25,000 from the Abertay Prototype Fund which will allow the company to begin development of a complete audio middleware solution aimed primarily (but not exclusively) at mobile and social network game developers.

The solution will allow game developers to add high quality audio to their titles in a fraction of the time and effort currently required, and uniquely unlike existing audio middleware solutions, without an in-depth understanding of audio, by providing a "plug and play" approach to audio integration.

With almost two decades of game audio development experience, including over a decade designing and creating game audio engines, including those used in the Grand Theft Auto series of games, Euphonious founder, Raymond Usher has a unique, hands-on perspective of the issues faced by game developers.

The development of this audio middleware solution forms the second phase of the company's strategic development plan which has the primary aim of providing high quality and cost effective audio solutions for the new generation of game developers.  The first phase, entitled "Audio Skins", is due to be launched in the coming weeks.
