Man is NOT alone! Hide yo’ kids, hide yo’ wife, the Gorg are Unstoppable! I recently got the chance to play Unstoppable Gorg and let me tell you, I’m in LOVE! I am one of those people who suffer from the “just one more round” syndrome. I’m totally addicted to games that make me plan and think my strategy through. Oddly, I’m not an RTS fan but tower defense? LOVE!
Unstoppable Gorg is your standard tower defense but set in space. Your mission is to protect a central point while building satellites to earn money, tech and defense. The game starts out easy, you’re able to choose from difficulty level and set the speed of course for more challenge if you’d like. I found myself edging the speed up a notch or three. You’ll have a set number of mother ships that send out different types of flying saucers to attack your base. Do NOT let them reach the center or they’ll damage your base. Enough hits from these saucers and you’ll lose the round. You’ll have to plan out the placement of your satellites as you have a set amount of points you can place them in each round.
The scenes that come before each of the 40 levels are set like old black and white scifi complete with zeppelins and badly made flying saucers. Each level has its own story line to go with it. They’ll have you cracking up with laughter. Do not fast forward through them, they really are worth watching.
Unstoppable Gorg is made by Futuremark and is out for the PC/Mac from Steam for $9.99 USD, iOS platforms for $0.99 USD and coming soon to your Xbox Live Arcade. Love tower defense games? Want one that’ll have you coming back for more? Unstoppable Gorg is for you.
